Yesterday, Illinois House of Representatives proclaimed August 22 Antique Tractor Preservation Day. A ceremony and tractor show was held in Pekin, IL, celebrating the day.
Two young gentlemen were in attendance, displaying their antique treasures.
Cooper Krieter proudly displayed his 1969 Patio John Deere 110. This tractor has the exclusive one-year, only white painted engine. Cooper received the tractor for his tenth birthday. Obviously, he hasn’t owned the tractor for very long

Sam Martin displayed a John Deere 110 that holds a family heritage. His grandfather bought the tractor new, and thus far, it remains in the family
Sam is avid about his tractor. He treats it with great care. Long-time collector Dave Carton advised of an adjustment to the hood closure. Sam decided the adjustment needed to be made right then right there. The tractor went home with the hood closing properly.
Both of these tractors have community historical significance. They were purchased new from the same dealer. The dealer sticker is seen on the right front of the hoods
The business supported Pekin for many years
Meeting Cooper and Sam reminds us that heritage preservation is vital. Young people developing an interest saves the past from being forgotten.
